Litigation Associate Attorney opening at a Houston-based boutique litigation firm C&M Legal Search is working with, seeking someone with roughly 2–5 years of experience. The firm handles a mix of insurance defense, commercial litigation, healthcare litigation, medical malpractice, and other civil matters on both plaintiff and defense sides, and is looking to add an associate who wants real responsibility and close mentorship from senior trial attorneys (some with 20+ years of experience) rather than a high-volume, narrow defense role.

Day-to-day, the associate would run their own docket of insurance defense and civil litigation matters, handle legal research and drafting (motions, pleadings, briefs), manage discovery and case strategy, and assist with depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial prep, all while working directly with senior partners on more complex matters.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of substantive litigation experience, with insurance defense strongly preferred (workers’ comp or other civil litigation experience would also be considered), plus solid research/writing skills and billing experience. Strictly transactional/M&A backgrounds won’t be considered.
